PTA About Us

The Mile End Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a sub-group of the Mile End Parent Council and organize social and fundraising events throughout the school year. The PTA constitution outlines its purpose as “the advancement of education, health and children’s participation in sport for the children of Mile End School”. It also promotes communication between parents and teachers. Some parents are members of both the PC and the PTA.

Money raised in previous years has been spent on such things as playground markings, interactive whiteboards, football strips, school trips, classroom supplies and musical instruments, digital equipment – all “extras” for the benefit of children at our school.

Each year the PTA raises money by organising various fun and exciting events, by selling school uniform and by supporting other fundraising activities. These events need the support of the whole school community including the valuable support of parents, guardians and carers who volunteer to help with these events. This is also an area that the children love to get involved in, so they always appreciate it when parents step in to help out!

The PTA also support and help out at various school events such as the Beetle Drive, Carol Service, Nativity and Christmas Shopping Night.
